Although the structure of a brushless dc motor is similar to that of a permanent magnent synchronous motor, its operating characteristics are the same as those of permanent magent dc motor. The brushless dc motor drive system is, therefore, composed of power converter including inverter, rotor positioning sensor and controller.
In this paper, the resolver-to-digital converter is designed which gives the rotor position by digital counting method. And using microprocessor a stabilized digital control system is realized. Also, a stabilized digital control system is realized using microprocessor. The step and continuous motions of a brushless dc motor have also been implemented employing the control scheme which give the satisfactory results.
