This paper presents a dynamic and fatigue analysis of a concrete gravity platform under the random wave loadings.
The 3-D structural model with consistent mass formulation is used in this paper. The effect of the soil is taken into account by a linear visco elastic half space model. The hydrodynamic loadings on the towers are evaluated using the modified Morison equation. However, the wave force on the caisson is calculated using the diffraction theory. The equations of motion are solved by the frequency response method. Then the fatigue analysis are performed by the spectral method. Numerical analysis are carried out on an idealized structure for various sea state conditions.
Parameter studies are performed to investigate the effects of the shear modulus of the soil foundation and the wave direction.
