An UV-preionized TEA $CO_2$ laser with discharge volume of $0.9×0.9×11cm^3$ has been fabricated and operated at 2 pulses per second.
In flow-type energy density up to 15.5J/1 was obtained at high $CO_2$ concentration gas mixture, $CO_2$:$N_2$:He=2:1:2.
The operational lifetime of the sealed gas mixture ($CO_2$:$N_2$:He = 1:1:3) was $5×10^3$ pulses.
With the addition of small amount of hydrogen to give a gas mixture of $CO_2$:$N_2$:He:$H_2$ = 20:20:59.6:0.4, sealed operational lifetime exceeding $2.6×10^4$ pulses was obtained. In this mode, the peak power was 0.96MW/pulse at first and 0.25MW/pulse after $2.6×10^4$ pulses.
