It is well known that residual stresses can occur in the deposited layer and base metal by the arc spraying process, and these residual stresses have great influence on the mechanical properties of the coated parts.
To analytically determine the distribution of the residual stresses, the problem of the heat flow must be exactly solved at first.
But, there are only few informations on that problem, which were carried out experimentally on some cases. But these informations are not enough to determine the structural change and residual stress distribution in arcsprayed parts.
In this thesis, the heat flow problem during arc spraying process was modelled and solved with numerical method. The comparison of the numerical results with the experimental ones shows that the heat flow model is appropriate to determine the temperature distribution of the arcsprayed parts. These results can be also applied to the problem of the residual stresses.
