The frequent usage of the foam core into light airplanes and RPV's requires the proper analysis of a sandwich structure with a foam core. Because of the irregularity of properties of the foam, various experiments should be done according to the standardized test methods. Three types of sandwich foam cores have been tested for the evaluation of each foam core properties.
The characteristics of a foam core have been studied and their tested material properties are used for the sandwich beams with laminated faces and a foam core are conducted for the evaluation of wrinkling of the sandwich beams. By three point bending tests, shear moduli of the core are also derived and compared with the actual tested values.
