Analytical studies on a rigid rotor balancing were done in order to design an experimental device for automatic rigid balancing. It was concluded that remotely controlled two balancing heads can be very effective for the balancing purposes.
A new two step balancing algorithm was developed. The first is just applying influence coefficients method and the second is applying iterative methods to minimize residual vibrations after the first procedure was done.
A test was done to verify the developed balancing technique. The results show that automatic rigid balancing can be very effective with the newly developed algorithm.
