In order to control the flight vehicle with large variation of its dynamic characteristics in flight, a "Two-Level Adaptive Control of Flight vehicle" is proposed.
The proposed algorithm has two control levels. In the first level, gain scheduling control is used to control for the roughly modeled flight, and in the second level, the unmodeled and erronously modeled dynamics are adaptively controlled by model reference adaptive control algorithm.
A F-8 control system is designed by the proposed algorithm for the performance evaluation, and compared with it by gain scheduling control only, and it by model reference adaptive control only.
