A study on high speed and high precision control of step motor using microprocessor is presented.
Due to the inherent characteristic of the step motor, it is possible to achieve the accurate speed and position control of the step motor without any feedback signal to up a certain degree.
It is found that the rate of rise of the current in a stator winding is the prime factor of the motor drives at high speed operation. It also has been found that the microprocessor is very powerful tool for determining the pulse scheme and generating the pulse trains.
