In this thesis, PERD Access Method Subsystem (PAMS) is proposed as the physical storage management for PERD. Its objective is to provide the PERD system with an effective facility for the file management by means of efficient storage structures and access paths.
Storage structures are designed not only to reflect the characteristics of the split storing of an entity in RM/T, but also to overcome the processing degradation according to the split storing. Several access paths, such as Hashing scan, ISAM scan, Sequential scan, and $B^{+}$-tree scan, are also provided for the purpose of proper and fast accesses to split data objects.
Finally, the designed storage structures and access paths are evaluated from the viewpoint of searching time and inserting time.
