A systematic approach to identify the mold filling process in a plastic injection molding machine is carried out. The effect of the temperature of barrel on the variation of parameter is extensively investigated in this thesis. To avoid the coupling complexities in the hydraulic and polymer processing system, the whole system is divided into two parts in identifying the unknown parameters.
The sensitivity analysis of the parameters proceedes the identification to choose the parameters which makes an important role to change the process variables.
The parameter identification, based upon the minimization of errors between the measured and the predicted process variables using the Direct Search Method is performed.
