An experimental investigation was conducted on the thickness and the uniformity of liquid sheets produced from the spinning cup of rotary burner with stationary feed distributor.
Thickness of the liquid sheets within the spinning cup was measured by needle probe and micrometer. The free surface of liquid sheets fluctuates and the statistical treatment of existance-probability curve of liquid sheet was used for measuring its thickness.
The obtained data showed that when the speed of spinning cup is 2000-5000rpm and the flowrate is 80-200ℓ/H with liquid of 1.0 cst viscosity, the uniformity of the liquid sheets was broken down.
