This thesis treats the inventory problems of YUKONG Lim. which is related to transportation problem.
To determine safety stock level and its effects on total inventory level, 3 simulation models were developed using GPSS V.
Each simulation model treats one transportation media: Pipeline, vessel, train.
Using pipeline model, the effects of shortening a pumping cycle is analyzed, and showed that it contributes to the stability of stock level.
By train model and vessel model, the trend of total stock level was analyzed for various safety stock level and showed that about one third of real inventory level can be lowered.
The validity of 3 simulation models were verified by comparing the results of models with the actual data of Nov., 1984.
