Experiments have been made to investigate the performance of a small hydro axial tubular turbine which is newly developed for the purpose of utilizing low head water resources.
The results are described by means of the dimensionless variables, namely, flow coefficient, power coefficient and velocity coefficient together with the turbine efficiency, specific speed and specific diameter, and the influence on the performance of turbine are examined.
The hydraulic and geometry parameters are compared with those obtained by Schweiger and Gregori.
These experimental results contribute to the design and the optimal operation of the axial hydro turbine.
