The over-filled scanning method, which has been used to reduce the retrace time in polygonal mirror scanner, is used to increase the scan length and improve the scanning properties for the holographic scanner. To raise the accuracy of the hologram and make many replicates, the hologram is made by a computerized plotting system and photolithography. The methods of the design and fabricatiion of the CGH lens are described. The experimental results of the over-filled CGH scanner are reported and compared with those of Bryngdahl and Lee's under-filled CGH scanner.
