This study presents an analysis of the combined heat and mass transfer process taking place in the absorber of water-lithium bromide absorption cooling unit.
The model analyzed in this study describes the nonisothermal absorption of water vapor into a laminar film of lithium bromide solution flowing downward on a constant temperature vertical flat plate. The diffusion and energy equations are solved simultaneously to give the variation of the heat and mass fluxes with length. Sherwood and Nusselt numbers are calculated.
Also, Experiments were performed in externally cooled wetted wall plate at low pressure and the experimental data were compared with the theoretical results of the model. Experimental results are approximately agreed with the theoretical results.
