This thesis is concerned with the design of a process quality control system which is based on the use of a microcomputer.
A typical pattern of information flow is analyzed and a process quality control system is developed; the system summarizes and stores quality information from a manufacturing process using histograms, control charts, Pareto charts, etc., which are used for in-process control to give an hour-by-hour or day-by-day picture of the process. This information can then be used to monitor and control manufacturing operations in order to attain higher quality level.
The system is composed of nine modules : menu, histograms, $\bar{X}$-and R-charts, p-charts, c-charts Pareto charts, data base, normality test, and runs test. Some case examples are presented.
