Axisymmetric slow viscous flow due to the broad-side motion of two parallel disks is studied on the basis of Stokes approximation. The problem is reduced to a mixed type boundary value problem determining two harmonic functions from which the flow field can be expressed formally. Analysis and improvement of perturbation series of force acting on disk in powers of 1/h (where 2h denotes the ratio of the distance between two disks to the radius of the disk) are carried out by use of the Domb-Sykes plot and Euler transformation.
The features of streamline patterns are examined for various distance-to-radius ratios by evaluating the formal expressions.
