In this thesis work, the link level protocol for a small-scale packet-switched network system has been designed and implemented in accordance with the CCITT Recommendation X.25.
The network consists of three nodes, each of which has a terminal interface and packet-assembly/disassembly (PAD), a packet-level control, and a link-level control module.
After a general discussion on the structure of the network system, the hardware and software systems for the link-level control are discussed in detail. The main components for the link control system are an LSI chip for synchronization and frame construction, queueing buffer, DMA, and interface programs with packet level system. Experimental results and performance are discussed also.
본 논문에서는 소형 packet 교환망에서의 switching node 사이의 안전하고 효율적인 데이타 전송을 위한 link control system 이 연구 구현되었다.
세개의 switching node가 구성되었고, 다수의 터미날과 host computer 사이의 안정된 정보교환이 확인되었다.
Node사이의 전송 error를 복구하기 위한 error recovery 기능과 빠른 데이타 전송을 위한 flow control 기능이 CCITT X.25 의 level 2에 따라 구현되었다.
Microprocessor의 제한된 능력을 고려하여 단순하고 flexible한 scheme들이 고려되었고, modular한 시스템구조를 위하여 packet level과의 interface를 극소화하였다.
끝으로 여러 종류의 link 속도와 error rate에 대한 like control system의 성능이 평가되었다.
