Coal gasfication reactions were studied in a 3-inch atmospheric fluidized bed.
In this study, experimental variables were air flow rate, steam flow rate and temperature with coal feed rate was fixed. Produced gases were analyzed by Gas Chromatography, and usuable products, CO, $H_2$ gases were correlated with experimental variables and with $CO/CO_2$-ratio. Their results are as follows;
Conc. of [CO] = $0.0254(F_{stm}/F_c)^{0.48}(F_{air}/F_c)^{-1.66}(T')^{3.03}$
Conc. of [$H_2$] = $0.0423(F_{stm}/F_c)^{1.14}(F_{air}/F_c)^{-2.02}(T')^{4.32}$
$CO/CO_2$-ratio = $6.06 x 10^{-3}(F_{atm}/F_c)^{0.059}(F_{air}/F_c)^{-1.70}(T')^{3.94}$
Concentration of CO and H$_2$ gas increased with temperature and steam flow rate, but decreased with air flow rate. CO/CO$_2$-ratio increased with temperature but independent on steam flow rate.
