Vibration and Control problems of Nonrotating circular plate are investigated. Experimental modal analysis shows that plate and shaft bending vibration modes are strongly coupled. In order to suppress only lower modes, a sensor position is determined considering the corresponding mode shapes and a control system is built.
Modeling of system and derivation of control scheme are due to Time Series Analysis. It is found that ARMAV (8, 7) model is adequate to represent the whole system characteristics and that zero step ahead forcasting is needed to implement the digital control scheme by a micro-computer.
