A TV IF SAW filter is fabricated on a Y-cut, Z-propagation $LiNbO_3$ wafer.
The passband ripple and the smaller upper sidelobe attenuation are observed.
Computer aided design programs of the apodized interdigital transducer using the optimization technique and FFT algorithm is developed for asymmetric-frequency-characteristics-filters with uniform electrode-finger-spacings. This technique is used to optimize sampled baseband impulse response values by the conjugate gradient nonlinear programming method.
The analysis program of the diffraction effects is also developed with the parabolic diffraction theory. The computation time is reduced due to the fact that second Fresnel integrals is computed using polynomial approximations.
Using these CAD programs and considering several second order effects, a TV IF SAW Filter is designed for mass production.
Finally, as one method of producing SAW films, piezoelectric ZnO thin film on slidegrass is obtained from Zn metal ingot by reactive rf sputtering deposition method.
