The appropriate distribution of fire companies in municipal area is a fundamental concern in fire fighting decision making. This study is conducted to analyze the deployment of fire fighting resources and develop improved deployment strategies for the Seoul Fire Department.
The study is performed on the following area.
1. Determining the travel characteristics of emergency service vehicles.
2. Assessing the current level of fire protection supplied by the Fire Department.
3. Changes to be made to the current deployment configuration using Parametric Allocation Model (P.A.M.)
4. Optimal allocation of futhure additional fire companies with P.A.M.
The study shows a long term plan leading to balanced fire protection for the most fire hazardous district as well as low alarm rate district.
