Closed-circuit television(CCTV) is used to capture images at specific places, such as banks, airports, stores and military installations in order to prevent or deter crime. The storing of images is used as evidence at the crime scene. Because CCTV images are used as crime-scene evidence, their reliability is important. However, image editing tools such as Photoshop make this unreliable. While near-infrared images have different properties, such as a constant level of source light intensity, and a constant direction of the source light, there are no forensic techniques for near-infrared image. In this paper, we propose a forensic techniques based on a constant direction of the source light. In order to expose splicing forgery, we create an ideal near-infrared image model of a plane. We then calculate the gradient direction of the model and objects in the image. Depending on the similarity of two directions, the image is determined forged or not. In order to expose upscale-crop forgery, we calculate the gradient maps of the normal image and target image. Comparing the two gradient maps, we detect the upscale-crop forgery. This forensic techniques help to improve the reliability of near-infrared image.
