E-Learning that came into being with the develop of IT has attracted keen attention as one of the ma-jor remote communication tools. In particular, a wide spread of the Internet connection in Korea has enabled PC-based education informatization among schools nationwide. Today, so many learners take advantage of E-Learning content via smart mobile devices, including smart phone. In view of this fact, advanced studies mainly focused on mobile E-Learning accessible via PMP and PDA as well as PC-based one. The learning performance of students was another focus of research. Mobile contents have mostly been limited to entertainment, which includes game, video and music rather than the E-Learning category. This study has looked into how characteristics of smart phone and E-Learning platforms affect the intent to reuse the service among those with previous experience of getting access to E-Learning via smart phone.
Here is the summary of conclusion. First, characteristics of smart phone and E-Learning platforms af-fect the intent to reuse the service include the quality of content, interactivity and ubiquity. In particular, ubiquity was the greatest contributor that affects the intent to reuse the service among students. In general, convenience did not affect the intent of reutilization.
Second, a statistically significant difference was identified in gender as a factor that differentiates the extent of how characteristics of platforms affect the intent of reutilization. The single biggest factor that af-fects the intent of reutilization among males was interactivity while the quality of content and ubiquity affected females in determining the intent to reuse E-Learning content. This difference is considered to be from gender-based differences among others.
Third, another statistically significant difference was found in duration of learning, depending on which characteristics that affect the intent to reuse the content were determined. For E-Learning via smart phone less than an hour, the quality of content affected the intent of reutilization. Apparently, those who concentrate on E-learning within a short period of time were more affected by the quality of content than any other factor. In contrast, those who engage in E-Learning more than an hour were more affected by interactivity, ubiquity and convenience. This phenomenon is considered to come from difference in characteristics of smart phones. Especially, the technical aspects of smart phone and environmental factors seemingly contributed to these results.
IT 발달과 함께 최근에는 스마트폰과 같은 스마트기기로 많은 학습자들이 이러닝 콘텐츠를 접하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 스마트폰에 기반한 이러닝 학습을 접해본 사용자를 대상으로 스마트폰, 이러닝콘텐츠, 플랫폼의 특성들이 사용자 재이용 의도에 미치는 영향을 연구하였다. 또한 성별과 학습 시간에 따라 재이용 의도에 미치는 영향력을 살펴보았다.
결과를 요약하면 첫째, 스마트폰 기반의 이러닝 콘텐츠 플랫폼의 특성 중에서 이용자의 재이용 의도에 미치는 특성은 콘테츠품질, 상호작용성, 편재성으로 나타났다. 특히 편재성이 학습자의 재이용 의도에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 일반적으로 편리성은 재이용 의도에 영향을 미치지 못하였다. 둘째, 스마트폰 기반의 이러닝 콘텐츠 플랫폼의 특성 중에서 성별에 따라 재이용 의도에 미치는 영향력에 통계적으로 의미 있는 차이를 발견하였다. 이용자가 남성일 경우 재이용 의도에 미치는 가장 큰 특성은 상호작용성으로 나타났다. 이용자가 여성일 경우 콘텐츠품질과 편재성이 재이용 의도에 영향일 미쳤다. 셋째, 스마트폰 기반의 이러닝 콘텐츠 플랫폼의 특성 중에서 학습시간에 따라 재이용 의도에 미치는 영향력에 통계적으로 의미 있는 차이를 발견하였다. 스마트폰을 이용해 한시간 미만 이러닝을 학습할 경우 재이용 의도에 영향을 미치는 특성은 콘텐츠품질이었다. 짧은 시간 집중적으로 학습을 하다 보니 다른 조건들 보다는 콘텐츠의 품질에 가장 영향을 받은 것으로 여겨진다. 반대로 한시간 이상 학습을 할 경우 상호작용성, 편재성, 편리성이 재이용 의도에 영향력이 있었다. 아직까지도 많은 이러닝 기업들이 PC기반의 기술이나 단기적 홍보 중심의 사업 전략을 유지해오고 있는데 본 연구는 스마트폰 기반의 플랫폼 변화와 핵심 요인들에 대한 연구를 통해 앞으로 이러닝 기업에서 장기적 사업 전략을 어떻게 짜야 할 지 방향을 제시했다는 데 의의를 둘 수 있다.
