The main objective of this research is to study the applicability of microprocessor to numerical control of a milling machine by software, i.e., in mass production. it is to be made that by a microprocessor the serial motion of machine is memorized and the same motion is repeated.
This research is also concerned with the structure of microprocessors. The process of program and important articles, two-dimension and three-dimension of linear and circular interpolation, are presented in detail. An experiment made to move the table three-dimensionally to the specified position and by specified feed rate. The number of theoretically possible point to point motions is about 14,000.
The experimental results agreed with the predicted operations satisfactorily. It was concluded that application of microprocessor is recommended for mass production to cut cost down.
