This thesis proposes integrity mechanisms to solve various integrity problems in DBMS and the methods of implementing these mechanisms to relational data model.
The integrity described here contains problems of data validation, consistency, data sharing and the ability of checking constraints given by each user and preventing erroneous access of database by a locking mechanism and also contains the ability of exclusive control for each user.
Relational data model is composed of a schema, a domain, file, relation files and an inverted list file and in each relation file, data and their relationships are separated.
DBMS is composed of Query processor, userinterface program, user buffer and various kinds of tables and these components are maintained by NOVA 840 operating systems.
이 논문은 DBMS 에서의 integrity 문제를 처리하기 위한 mechanism 을 설계하고 relational 모형에 이를 적용시키는 방법을 제시하였다.
여기서 다룬 integrity 는 data validation, consistency, data sharing 등의 문제들이며 각 user 에 의하여 주어진 constraint 를 수행하고 locking mechanism 에 의하여 불합리한 access 를 방지하도록 하였으며, 각 user 에 의한 data 의 exclusive control 이 가능하게 하였다.
Relational database 의 구성은 schema 와 domain file, relational file 및 inverted list file 로 이루어지며 data와 그들의 relation 을 분리 저장하였다. DBMS 는 Query processor 와 user interface program 및 user buffer 와 여러종류의 table 들로 이루어지며 NOVA 840 O.S 에 의하여 운용된다.
