The FBT(Flyback transformer) of a television receiver is prone to ringing effects, which are due to the shock-excited oscillation of the resonant circuits formed by the leakage inductance of the transformer with the stray capacitance. When shock-excited by the retrace voltage the high voltage winding can ring during the scan period, causing velocity modulation of the scanning beam.
It is important to suppress the ringing as small as possible.
An analysis of the horizontal-deflection system for televison shows that the transient ringing during the trace period of the deflection cycle can be eliminated by proper choice of component values.
This thesis sets out to show that such an improvement can be obtained under certain circumstance and investigates the parameter value of the horizontal system which is commercially produced now.
The condition of any parameter value can be predicted.
The result can be used in designing a Flyback transformer.
