In the paper, a simple single-user graphics system is developed. The system consists of the NOVA 840 minicomputer, storage type graphic terminal TEKTRONIX 4010 and console typewriter.
A conversational programming language is designed for this system. The language handles two dimensional pictures and has the display procedures for picture definition. The picture defined in graphic procedure can be transformed, i.e., translated, rotated and scaled. Also windowing, transformation and clipping can be done.
The user can run his programs in the console typewriter interactively with the computer and display the picture in graphic terminal.
본 논문에서는 간단한 single-user graphics system에 대하여 연구하였다. 이 system은 NOVA 840 mini-computer와 storage type graphic terminal인 TEKTRONIX 4010과 console typewriter로 구성되어 있다.
이 system을 뒷받침하고 있는 conversational program language가 설계되었다. console typewriter에서 interactive 하게 이 언어를 써서 program을 할 수 있으며 graphic terminal에서는 picture을 display한다.
이 language 는 2차원 도형을 다루며 display procedure 을 두어, 여기서 정의된 picture을 transformation할 수 있도록 하며 windowing transformation과 clhpping도 가능케 한다.
