In this thesis inventories are regarded as an investment for future profits, not as a cost as traditionally considered.
Based upon this concept, an inventory decision making process is developed in order to maximize the rate of return.
The biggest difficulty in the application of traditional inventory model was the necessity of such subjective procedures as capital cost estimation.
This difficulty can be eliminated in the developed decision process, because only cash inflow and outlay need to be considered in calculating a rate of return.
Two typical models are developed according to the demand patterns: Constant demand model and probabilistic demand model.
The existence of a unique positive optimal solution in each case was mathematically proved.
The structure of the equation from which the optimal solution is derived, called for the use of an electronic digital computer for numerical methods as analytical methods posed too great a difficulty.
Optimum solutions were tabulated by varying values of the decision constants for ready application by readers. Finally some potential research topics are suggested.
본 논문은 여태까지와 같이 재고를 비용의 측면에서 보지 않고 미래의 수익을 유도하기 위한 투자라고 보아 그 투자수익률을 최대로 하는 재고의 의사결정모형을 개발하였다.
투자수익률법은 현금의 지출과 수입만을 고려하면 되므로 기존 재고모형의 현실적 적용에 있어 가장 큰 애로사항 중의 하나였던 자본 비용의 산정과 같은 주관적인 절차를 의사결정과정에서 생략할 수 있었다.
본 연구에서는 재고의 두개의 전형적인 경우의 모형을 소개하였다:일정수요율의 모형과 확률적 수요의 모형
두 경우 모두 유일한 양의 최적해가 존재함이 수학적으로 증명되었다.
식의 형태에 제약을 받아 최적해를 해석적 방법으로 구하기는 곤란하므로 전자계산기에 의한 수치해석적 방법이 소개되었고 특히 상수의 값에 따라서만 최적해가 달라짐을 이용하여 실용에 편리하도록 최적해의 수표를 작성하였다.
끝으로 기존 모형과 새로운 모형에서의 최적해의 비교등과 같은 주제가 미래의 연구를 위하여 제시되었다.
