Dependence of the liquid holdup on the geometrical shape and size of the packing materials in 10cm -ID Column was studied by the direct measurement of the holdup data with the leverarm.
The holdup was a function of flowrate of both fluids, chatacteristics of bed, and Properties of solutions.
From the force balance the following theoretical model was developed;

여러가지 충전물의 기하학적인 형태와 크기에 따른 액체 체유량 (holdup) 의 변화를, 10cm-ID 충전탑에서 지렛대 저울을 이용하여, 직접 체유량을 측정함으로써 연구하였다. 이 체유량은 두 유체의 유속, 충전층의 특성 및 용액의 물리적 성질의 함수이다.
