This paper incorporates the behavioral economic theory of loss aversion into the traditional economic theory of price discrimination. Moreover, it examines the effects of increasing awareness of fairness due to the advance of the Internet on the results of the firm’s optimal pricing strategies in the international price discrimination; the optimal prices of two distinct markets would converge and the firm’s profit would dimin-ish as more people become aware of the loss. In addition, the critical proportion of loss-aware consumers which makes the optimal prices equal increases in the size difference of willingness to pay and in the mar-ginal cost. However, it decreases in the magnitude of consumer’s loss aversion.
