This thesis is concerned with economic designs of life test sampling plans and screening procedures. Optimal sampling plans and screening procedures which minimize expected average cost are obtained. This thesis is organized as follows.
(i) Two economic life test sampling plans for nonrepairable products which are sold under the general rebate warranty policy are considered ; one for exponential distribution based on curtailed Type II censoring and the other for Weibull distribution with unknown scale parameter based on Type II censoring. Cost models are constructed which involve test cost, accept cost, and reject cost. Optimal sampling plans which minimize the expected average cost are obtained and sensitivity analyses for the parameters of the prior distributions are performed.
(ii) Economic designs of life test sampling plans for repairable products which are sold under the general rebate warranty policy are proposed. The power law process is considered as a model for describing the failure times of the products. It is assumed that the products in each lot have the same failure intensity function, but the parameters of the function vary from lot to lot according to a known prior distribution. Cost models are constructed and methods of finding optimal sampling plans which minimize the expected average cost are presented. Sensitivity analyses for the parameters of the prior distribution are also performed.
(iii) An economic sequential screening procedure is considered for limited failure populations in which defective items fail soon after they are put in operation and nondefective ones never fail. A cost model is constructed which involves screening test cost and external failure cost. A sequential scheme which minimizes the expected average cost is derived in which at each stage we can either stop and accept the batch or continue to the next stage based on accumulated failure information up to that stage. The optimal decision at each stage is obtained in a closed form.
제품의 수명이 주요 품질특성인 경우, 제품에 대한 합.불합격을 결정짓는 샘플링 검사를 수명시험 샘플링 검사라고 한다. 수명시험은 일반적으로 오랜시간 을 요하고, 시험방식이 일종의 파괴검사에 해당하므로 많은 비용이 소요된다. 오늘날 제품의 품질, 특히 신뢰성에 대한 소비자들의 요구가 엄격해 지고 제품에대한 보증제도가 일반화 됨에 따라, 보증정책 (warranty policy)을 고려한 경제 적인 수명시험 샘플링 검사방식의 개발 필요성이 인식되고 있다. 통계적 기준에 의한 수명시험 샘플링 검사방식에 대해서는 많은 연구가 진행되어 왔으나, 그에 반해 경제성을 고려한 방식에 대해서는 그렇지 못한 실정이다. 한편 제품에 대한 설계 및 생산기술의 발달로 인해 정상적인 제품의 수명은 충분히 길어 실제 사용기간동안의 고장확률은 0 에 가까운 반면, 제조상 결함을 지닌 소량의 불량품만이 짧은 수명을 갖는 경우가 있다. 이러한 제품들로 구성된 집단을 "제한고장집단(limitd failure population)" 이라 하는데 이러한 집단에 대해서는 적절한 선별절차를 적용하여 불량품들을 선별.제거함으로써 전반적인 출하품질을 향상시킬 수 있다.
본 논문은 이와같은 상황에서 수명시험과 관련된 제반 비용, 합격된 제품에 대해 적용되는 보증정책과 그에따른 보증비용, 그리고 불합격된 제품의 처리비용 등을 고려한 수명시험 샘플링 검사방식과 제한 고장 집단에 대한 선별절차의 경제적 설계문제를 다루는 연구로서 다음과 같은 세가지 부분으로 구성되어 있다.
첫째, 일반할인 보증정책 (general rebate warranty policy) 하에 판매되는 수리 불가능한 제품에 대해, 수명이 지수분포와 와이블분포를 따르는 경우의 경제적인 수명시험 샘플링 검사방식들을 구하였다. 합격비용, 불합격비용, 및 수명 시험비용으로 구성되는 기대 비용 함수를 유도하고, 총 기대비용을 최소화하는 샘플링 검사방식을 제시하였다.
둘째, 일반할인 보증정책하에 판매되는 수리가능한 제품에 대해, 경제적인 수명시험 샘플링 검사방식을 설계하였다. 고장시간들이 "거듭제곱과정(power law process)" 을 따르는 경우를 고려하였으며, 고장율 함수의 모수들에 대한 사전분포 (prior distribution)를 이용하여 기대 비용 함수를 유도하고, 총 기대비용을 최소화하는 샘플링 검사방식을 구하였다.
셋째, 제한 고장 집단에 대해 경제적인 축차 선별 절차를 제시하였다. 불량품의 수명이 지수분포i}OE 따르는 경우에 대해, 선별시험에 드는 비용과 선별절차가 끝난후 남아있는 불량품에 의한 외부 고장 비용으로 구성되는 기대 비용 함수를 유도하였다. 총 기대비용을 최소화하는 축차 선별 절차를 구하였으며, 불량률과 수명분포의 모수값이 미지인경우, 초기추정치 (pre-estimtes)를 사용함에 따른 민감도 분석을 수행하였다.
