High pressure vapor-liquid equilibrium for carbon dioxide-methanol, carbon dioxide-ethanol binary system, carbon dioxide-methanol-ethanol ternary system were measured at temperature of 313.2 K and pressure ranging from 5 bar to 85 bar.
In this work, a new experimental apparatus of circuation type was built. The accuracy of this apparatus was tested by comparing the measured carbon dioxidetoluene high pressure data at 353.2 K with those of Morris and Ng & Robinson. The result of comparison showed good agreement.
Vapor-liquid equilibrium data for carbon dioxide-methanol, carbon dioxide-ethanol binary system were determined at temperature of 313.2 K and pressure ranging from 5 bar up to the critical pressure of mixtures. The experimental vapor-liquid equilibrium data for the ternary system carbon dioxide-methanl-ethanol was measured at the temperature of 313.2 K and pressures of 20, 40, 60, 80 bar.
These equilibrium data were compared with calculated values from Peng & Robinson equation of state and Patel & Teja equation of state. Good agreement was obtained by using Patel & Teja equation of state.
