Psychosocial environment is one of the important factors that affecting one’s personality and even contributes to cause and deterioration of mental disorder. In this issue, there have been several clinical researches that focused on relationship between the brain disease patient and the related people like family or caregiver because of the direct social influence from the patient. However, despite the clinical importance, there is no analytic research covering it. In this thesis, I reconstituted this situation using pilocarpine-induced epilepsy model as a role of the brain disease patient with abnormal social behaviors. A normal mouse was paired the epilepsy model as like caregiver or family of the patient. The cagemate of epilepsy model showed depressive, anxious, dysfunction in social behavior and memory. The effect of housing with brain disease model was coincident with clinical finding, and relevant to actual psychosocial effect. Further study about connection between limbic areas is currently in motion by measuring EEG.
사회심리적 환경은 개인의 성격형성, 더 나아가 정신질환의 발병과 악화에 영향을 주는 중요한 요소로 알려져 있다. 이러한 관점에서, 환자로부터 받는 직접적인 사회심리적 영향 때문에 그 동안 많은 임상연구들이 뇌 질환 환자와 보호자 (간병인: caregiver, 가족: family)간의 관계에 대해 중점을 두고 조사를 해왔다. 그러나 임상적인 중요성에도, 환자와 보호자간의 관계를 제대로 분석하고 모델화한 동물실험연구는 그 동안 없었다. 본 연구에서는 pilocarpine으로 유도한 간질모델(epilepsy model)을 비정상적인 행동을 보이는 뇌 질환 환자로 모사하여 환자-보호자간의 관계를 재구성하였다. 간질모델과 한배로 태어난 (정상) 생쥐가 모델과 일대일로 짝지어져 동거하게 되며, 동거과정에서 모델로부터 받게 되는 사회심리적 요인이 동거체에게 큰 영향을 줄 것이라 예상하였다. 6-8주간의 간질모델과의 단순한 동거로 동거체는 우울 및 불안증상(depressive and anxious symptom), 사회적 행동이상(social dysfunction), 학습과 기억력 감퇴(learning and memory dysfunction)이 나타났다. 간질모델과의 동거효과는 보호자에 대한 임상적인 관찰결과와 많은 부분이 일치하였다. 본 연구에서는 더 나아가 EEG 측정을 통한 대뇌 변연계간의 연결성 조사를 통하여 위와 같은 행동이상에 대한 뇌 기전을 연구하는 과정 중에 있다.
