We analyze the effect of liquidity risk on the bond yield based on the relationship between bond yield spread and CDS premium with historical data of 8 Korean USD bond issuing companies. We define the difference between CDS premium and USD bond yield spread as basis and consider this measure as a liquidity premium of the bond. When we calculate the basis of each company, the result shows that there exists a significant portion of liquidity premium in the bond yield spread, which is the same as the previous studies. We also find that the effect of liquidity risk of each CDS and Bond market shows significant effects on both CDS premium and bond yield spread. In addition, when we analyze the dynamic relationship between the two main variables, CDS premium and bond yield spread, it appears that CDS premium responds more rapidly with market shocks and plays a leading role in price discovery.
국내 8개 USD채권 발행기관에 대하여 채권수익률 스프레드와 CDS 프리미엄과의 관계를 이용하여 유동성위험이 채권수익률에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. CDS 프리미엄에서 채권수익률 스프레드를 차감한 것을 베이시스라고 정의하고 이를 유동성프리미엄으로 해석할 때, 이전의 연구와 마찬가지로 국내 발행기관의 USD채권의 경우에도 상당한 규모의 유동성프리미엄이 존재함을 확인하였다. 이러한 유동성프리미엄에 대한 유동성위험의 영향을 검토한 결과 개별시장의 유동성위험이 CDS시장과 채권시장에 모두 유의한 영향을 미치는 것을 알 수 있었다. 유동성프리미엄을 구성하는 채권수익률 스프레드와 CDS 프리미엄의 동학적 관계를 분석한 결과 외부충격에 대해 CDS 프리미엄이 보다 신속히 반응하여 가격발견기능에 있어 선행함을 확인하였다.
