This study addresses probably the most important yet least investigated question regarding business ethics education in South Korea. South Korea has lagged behind other advanced countries on the research about the business ethics education. Thus, this study investigates the present condition of the business ethics education in South Korea and tests for (a) gender, (b) major, (c) age, and (d) ethic education based differences in ethical intention, ethical evaluation among students from a Korean national university.
Results indicated that students who majored in accounting and management students had shown consistently different ethical evaluations and intention compare to other majors. On the contrary to literature (Robin & Babin, 1997; Dawson, 1997; Rugger and King, 1992; Vorherr, Petrick, Quinn, and Brady, 1995) no age and gender effect was found. Even though there were some evidences of ethics education effects, the evidence was rather weak to be acceptable.
현재 세계적으로 도덕교육의 중요성이 대두되고 있음에도 불구하고 한국의 도덕교육은 시작단계를 벗어나지 못하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 선진국에 비해 뒤쳐진 한국 도덕교육의 현 주소를 조사하고 한국 대학생들의 Ethical Perception 에 영향을 미치는 요인으로써 성별, 전공, 나이, 도덕교육을 조사하였다.
결과적으로 학생들의 Ethical Perception 에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 요인은 전공이었고 각 경영학 전공에 따라 딜레마 상황에 대한 도덕적 의도와 평가에서 많은 차이를 발견했다. 하지만 성별과 나이가 학생들의 Ethical Perception 에 미치는 영향은 발견할 수 없었다. 도덕 교육의 경우에는 도덕 교육이 학생들의 Ethical Perception 에 영향을 끼치는 요인으로써의 증거가 발견되었지만 일반화 시키기에는 다소 무리가 있었다.
