Considering the evolution speed of the Virtual Environment technology (VE), it is time for us to manage the bias in the human speed perception in the VE. It actually is on the progress in 'translational speed'. But the rotational speed perception of a rigidly rotating object is not thoroughly investigated yet. Succeeded by existing research about rotating ellipses, we extended our focus to various regular polygons to visualize the effect of object shape to the perceived rotational speed, which is a global motion signal. Through experiments using Magnitude Estimation method, the number of corners in the polygon found to represent the effect of the shape to the perceived rotational speed, and this is also verified with another popular method, 2Alternative Forced Choice. The shape of rigidly rotating polygon is found to be a major factor to influence the perceived rotational speed, and the positive correlation is observed between the perceived rotational speed and the number of corners. Though, the influence is not observed in low speed-level, and too high speed-level. The reason could be the sensitivity of human perception, and the Wagon Wheel Illusion.
