This thesis focuses on the valuation of structured notes using no-arbitrage models of the term structure of interest rates. We empirically analyze the difference between the market prices and the theoretical prices of structured notes using two types of no-arbitrage models, the Black-Derman-Toy (BDT) model and the Hull-White model, which are widely used in pricing bonds and interest rate-related derivatives in the market. We estimate the term structure of interest rates using CD rates and the KTB spot curve. The term structure of volatilities in the BDT model is estimated using the historical data of the term structure of interest rates. In addition, the parameters in the Hull-White model are estimated using the Generalized Method of Moments. We find that there is little difference in the theoretical prices of both the BDT model and the Hull-White model from the market prices of structured notes. Furthermore the difference between the market prices and the theoretical prices in most cases is small - even less than 1%. The results of this study show that the valuation of structured notes using the BDT model and the Hull-White model gives relatively accurate prices.
