Knowledge is recognized as the most important asset among enterprises. Therefore, the necessity of knowledge management is ever on the increase nowadays. Knowledge management is generally classified into creation, storage, sharing and usage. While many people have endeavored to develop knowledge storage, sharing and usage, knowledge creation is not sufficiently investigated for practical application, because knowledge creation is largely related to creativity and difficult to establish a systematic methodology. In order to overcome such problems, the creative knowledge creation model is proposed by using the whole brain theory and creative thinking tools. The whole brain theory deals with holistic utilization of four regions of the brain leading to the basis of creativity and combined creative thinking tools would improve the creativity of a person as well as a team.
First of all, the creative knowledge creation model is based on the Nonaka’s knowledge creation model integrated with the whole brain theory. The whole brain theory is then used as a standard to organize a whole brain team that is composed of members who have diverse thinking patterns. For creative thinking tools, the mandal-art and the contradiction matrix of TRIZ are used for a knowledge conversion. Each process of the creative knowledge creation model is sequentially suggested and several terms are defined.
In order to verify the effectiveness of the creative knowledge creation model, the proposed model is applied to the development of a dishwasher with a new concept. According to the order of the proposed method, the model is applied twice in the cycle of spiral evolution. Three kinds of dish-washing methods have been developed using the proposed model. The results of the application are then analyzed and presented. The results have shown that the creative knowledge creation model using the whole brain theory and creative thinking tools is quite effective.
The proposed model needs to be applied to other practical issues to obtain more generality.
지식은 기업 경쟁력의 주요 원천으로서, 지식의 경영 및 관리에 대한 중요성은 날이 갈수록 더욱 커지고 있다. 이러한 지식 경영은 창출, 저장, 공유, 활용 등의 분야로 나눌 수 있으며, 이 중에서 지식 창출과 관련된 분야는 그 연구가 많이 미흡한 실정이다. 이것은 지식 창출 분야가 창의성을 필요로 하며, 구체적인 프로세스의 정립이 어렵다는 특성과 관련이 있다고 할 수 있다.
본 연구에서는 이러한 지식 창출과 관련하여, 창의성과 밀접한 관련이 있는 뇌에 대한 연구인 전뇌(全腦) 이론과 체계적인 활용을 통해 창의성을 향상시킬 수 있는 창의적 사고 도구를 활용하여 지식 창출 모형을 제안한 후, 예제를 통해 모형을 적용하고 있다.
노나카(1994)의 지식 창출 모형을 바탕으로 하였으며, 전뇌 이론을 통해 다양한 배경의 구성원을 활용하고, 창의적 사고 도구인 만다라트(Mandal-Art)와 트리즈(TRIZ)를 활용하였다.
제안한 창의적 지식 창출 모형의 효과성을 입증하기 위하여, 제안 모형을 신개념 식기세척기 개발 과정에 적용하였다. 제안한 순서에 따라 모형이 적용되었으며, 2번의 나선 싸이클을 거쳐서 총 3가지의 식기 세척 방식을 도출하였다. 이러한 적용의 결과를 분석하였고, 전뇌 이론과 창의적 사고 도구를 활용한 본 모형의 효과를 입증하였다.
향후 과제로서, 본 논문에서 제안한 창의적 지식 창출 모형은 추가적인 실용 예제들에 적용되어야 할 것이다.
