A new PBG structure, Corrugated Coplanar Waveguide (CCPW) is proposed The proposed structure is compact, and has two simple working principles. From these two principles, the extended versions of CCPW are proposed, which shows the low pass filter characteristics. These structures are also compact and exhibit good performance.
CCPW is modeled as an infinite periodic structure, and is proved that it has the expected two principles. Also through this modeling, other characteristics of CCPW can be found and the design guide of CCPW is recommended.
A principle of the defect mode is explained, which is usually observed in other PBG structures. And a few defect structures of CCPW is proposed and implemented, and those show the expected results.
