In this paper, the development of a circularly polarized dual beam microstrip array antenna for receiving satellite broadcasting is presented. Two primary objectives of this development are reducing the profile of the antenna for receiving satellite broadcasting and minimizing the time for finding the satellite signal. Analysis and designs are presented of single element antenna with truncated corner configuration, 4 by 4 broadside array antenna, and 4 by 4 dual tilted beam array antenna. The simulated and measured results include the radiation pattern, axial ratio, and the reflection coefficient of the microstrip antennas.
