In this thesis, a cache consistency mechanism for Advanced Internet Cache is proposed. In the near future, we believe that more intelligent cache called Advanced Internet Cache will appear. This cache handles dynamic data. It is difficult to maintain the cache consistency when the cache manages dynamic data due to the frequent modification of the data. Although there are a lot of cache consistency mechanisms, they can be mainly used for static data. Therefore a cache consistency mechanism for Advanced Internet Cache is required. The proposed mechanism is based on the server invalidation scheme. Server sends an invalidation message with the modified data to the cache when the server side data is updated. To verify the validity of our mechanism, all the required components were designed and implemented. Also a whole service environment including the sample shopping site and Advanced Internet Cache was implemented. Through the implemented system for demonstration, it is testified that the proposed cache consistency mechanism works effectively.
