The newer and recently developed information communication technologies grafted upon many of today's digital appliances generated new industrial areas such as digital or information home appliances. As a result, more comfortable multi-functional products are being offered to users. As functions of such digital appliances are becoming more complicated, the contents of product manuals are getting much harder to understand. Under the current circumstances, the conventional text-only product manual cannot promptly provide the user with adequate information so that the development of online tutoring-type product manuals that are highly effective and efficient for both the diverse product information upgrade and information exchange is required.
Now thanks to the digitalization and networking of digital appliances, the development process of such manuals is getting faster and its foundation is already built by employing the web together with various multi-media and other related technologies. The study objective is to suggest a method for development of interactive online product manuals based on new concepts to help make the best use of so-called information home appliances and provide guidelines for further development of online product manuals by establishing a development process and suggesting a plan theory. The research is mainly focused on transferring the information of product manuals through various multi-media, especially on the interactive process of information transferring using a tutoring-type method by 3D simulation and step-by-step simulation for the product functional information. At the last, a case study is mentioned on manufacturing a prototype of online tutoring-type interactive instructions for digital home appliances.
The online product manual system, which will be developed in the near future will be used as a tool for transferring the new information and extend its applicability to serving in the intermediate position between producers and users.
본 연구는 정보가전제품의 활용을 극대화 할 수 있는 새로운 개념의 인터랙티브 튜터 온라인제품매뉴얼의 개발을 제안하며, 온라인제품매뉴얼 개발 프로세스를 구축하고 설계이론 및 제작기준을 제안함으로써 온라인제품매뉴얼 개발의 표준안적 가이드라인을 마련하는 것이다. 또한 실제 제안한 개발 프로세스를 적용, 웹을 기반으로 멀티미디어를 활용한 프로토타입을 제작해 봄으로써 개발의 가능성 및 효용성을 살펴보고자 한다.
멀티미디어 환경에서 다양한 멀티미디어 매체를 이용하여 제품매뉴얼의 정보를 전달하며 특히 제품기능정보를 3D 시뮬레이션과 단계별 시뮬레이션을 통한 튜터링 기법을 이용하여 사용자의 경험 구축 및 인터랙티브한 정보전달과정 등을 연구한다. 즉 인터랙티브한 정보의 전달 및 이해방법에 대한 대안개발과 다차원적 서비스 제공의 체계 구축을 목적으로 하여 실제 웹상에서 사용자를 위한 인터랙티브 튜터 온라인제품매뉴얼의 프로토타입을 제작해 봄으로써 개발과정에서 고려사항과 시스템화 및 가능성에 관하여 연구하였다.
