Recently, knowledge management systems have become important components for sustaining competition. However, current status of knowledge management systems is a simple set of various information technologies such as groupware, intranet or electronic document management system because there is no profound understanding of knowledge management process. Knowledge management processes have relation to the information technologies such as intranet, groupware and so on. As one of the important supporting systems for knowledge management, knowledge management system should be implemented through deep understanding for knowledge capabilities. In this paper, knowledge capability was defined as an enabler of knowledge management and classified to absorptive capacity, coordinate capacity and transformative capacity. This paper attempts to provide integrative framework on knowledge management systems based on various knowledge capabilities such as absorptive capacity, coordinate capacity and transformative capacity. Based on the proposed integrative framework, this paper tries to find relationship between the utilization of information technologies and knowledge capabilities. A sample of 148 firms was empirically analyzed. The analysis result confirmed that information technologies had positive relationship with knowledge capabilities. As the result of the survey, this paper proposed a new architecture for knowledge management based on the knowledge capabilities and integrate view of knowledge management system.
