e-Transformation is not an elective but a must to be a winning companies nowadays. But most of the companies does not really know how it is done or whether they are doing it right. Thus there weren’t enough research done on how to successfully implement e-Transformation. Even though evaluating the process of e-Transformation is very important for companies so that they would not make mistakes in implementing eBusiness, there weren’t enough research done on the way to evaluate e-Transformation right.
Through this study, a new self-assessment e-Transformation Quotient(eTQ) is developed based on comparison of existing four eBusiness quotients and application of Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award’s Scoring Guidelines. Also through out the thesis, idealistic paths that the companies should take in course of e-Transformation is suggested.
On developing a new self-assessment e-Transformation Quotient, the study integrated the observations of idealistic e-Transformation, existing eBusiness Quotients and Malcolm Baldrige’s Scoring Guidelines and Self-Assessment Model. Though this process, a new e-Transformation Quotient has been developed which a company can self-assess. After companies taking the e-Transformation Quotient, the company is able to know where they stand in the whole e-Transformation process. There are 8 kinds of typology that the company fit and at that point on, they are suggested of the right path to take through e-Transformation Path that the thesis is advising.
The main achievement of this study is that any company thinking of e-Transformation can now take the new self-assessment e-Transformation Quotient and not just know where they stand in whole e-Transformation process but also can now know which right path to take so that they can reduce the mistakes in the journey of e-Transformation. So it is suggested that the eBusiness Team in the company to take the test and know where they stand and where to go. This study could be very helpful to companies that are implementing eBusiness because they can take the evaluation themselves and also be advised of the right path to take from that point.
This study has several shortcomings and requires in-depth and comparative and empirical researches in the later time. This study is about development and application of e-Transformation Quotient which means that causal relationship could not be explained explicitly. Also it is necessary to replicate this study in other industries and firms.
