Information systems that are not used cannot be useful. Therefore, in order to explain, predict, and increase user acceptance better, it is necessary to better understand why people accept or reject information system. Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) is one of the most influential research models for studying determinants of information systems. A number of researches have supported or extended TAM, and this thesis applies TAM to study technology acceptance to knowledge management systems. This study reviews previous literature and classifies the external variables into 4 factors. To test the effect of external factors for TAM and the possibility of applying TAM to knowledge management systems, this study sampled 84 employees using knowledge management systems. The results show that adoption period, experience in IT, usage frequency, and educational satisfaction are significant. It is confirmed that TAM can be applied to knowledge management systems.
