This paper deals with Current-fed half bridge dual converter with Non-dissipative snubber(NDS). Firstly current-fed Half Bridge Dual Converter (CHBDC) is presented as an appropriate topology for high power DC/DC step-up converter. Secondarily the NDS applied to CHBDC is analyzed. Finaly the complete design procedures are given. A nondissipative resonant turn off snubber applied to CHBDC provides protection against switching device breakdown due to energy stored in the power transformer leakage inductor. And it eliminates the power dissipation of the traditional RCD snubber. The energy stored in the power transformer leakage inductor can be fed back to the DC power supply through the snubber circuits when the switching devices change their states. An excessive resonant current stress might increase switch turn on loss and destory the switching devices if the snubber were not designed properly. The NDS applied to CHBDC has four operating modes according to load condition and snubber devices` parameters. The validity of the analysis and the design is verified by a simulation and an experiment.
