The wireless control system for contact-less induction charger is designed. The contact-less induction charger is to charge a Li-Ion battery without contact so that many problems like contact failure, short circuit and water proof could be avoided.
The new charging procedure and system is designed for effective and low-cost realization. The transformer consists of planar type transformer in the mobile equipment and traditional POT-core in the charger part so that high power transformation and small weight is achieved simultaneously. The information of a battery like voltage, current and control must inform to the charger because the charger has no information on the battery state, so this information communication is achieved using RF (Radio Frequency) communication.
A battery information communication is achieved utilizing the ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) and custom micro-controller. An ASIC in battery side is designed to detect the error of voltage and current of battery and to communicate with the charger. Various sub blocks like oscillator, divider by 64, reference voltage generator, voltage, current comparator is designed also.
