With the development of networked-media and world wide accessibility in real time, trend forecasting is getting more and more important among designers in almost every fields. So recently many attempts to forecasting trend are undertaken. Yet those trend analysis techniques are not so systemized yet. The Term, Trend is defined differently in many other field of studies such as economics, anthropology, psychology and design or so. Moreover, in design field, the term and methodology is not defined in systemized way, either. So in this study our goal is to define trend and its appropriate studying methodology in design field. We focus on observation and questionary techniques, but they need long time and effort. So this research suggest image based scenario techniques whose media is world wide web. To achieve this goal this research uses several processes.
First, we gather Image database (such as 'eating', 'wearing', 'playing' and 'buying') on the base of AEIOU (act, environment, information, object, user) categories. Second, internet users connect to the image database and draw the scenarios like writing illustrated diaries. ((qualitative process)). These scenarios are stored again and become other databases. Next, based on this scenarios, internet users select images (such as clothings, hair styles, vehicles, interiors). ((quantitative process)) Finally, the trends and needs of users can be found out by special methodology depend on demographic category such as sex, age, place.
