With the rapid change of domestic telecommunication market, competition in all part is deepened. New local carrier started its business this year, and third long-distance carrier did its business also. Consumers can select the carriers which they prefer. So telecommunication tariffs are one of the most important factors.
This thesis analyze the optional calling plan tariffs of domestic cellular mobile carriers, PCS carriers, and wire-line carriers, BT, NTT, AT&T in the foreign countries. These carriers introduced optional calling plan tariffs few years ago.
First of all, the focus of this thesis is to design optional calling plan alternatives well. Applying long-distance telephone tariffs, this thesis designs optional calling plan alternatives with 4 important attributes using conjoint analysis. Through consumer survey, introduces consumer utility function.
Second, the thesis finds out which OCP alternatives is the best with two methods, Linear programming and Simulation. In calculating the profit of carrier, linear programming is difficult to apply on account of the price elasticity of calling demand. So this thesis uses simulation in order to decide optimal optional calling plan.
